Each Cozy Mystery Novel is judged by a panel of professionals that all LOVE Cozy Mysteries. The judges evaluate each novel based on how the author develops the characters, the setting, the plot, the conflict, and the resolution. Awards are given out 4 times a year. In terms of the Expert Reviews, the same judges read and review the novel submitted. We guaranty that each and every review will be completed in 1 month or less.

Absolutely not. Cozy Mysteries date back to the 1930s. In almost 100 years there have been many, many great Cozy Mysteries. Our mission is to recognize the best.

Of course, you can. We recognize that most Cozy Mystery Authors are prolific and most Cozy Mystery Novels are part of a larger book series. So, it makes perfect sense to us that the applicant would want to enter multiple novels for an award and/or an expert review.

Absolutely. Each novel can only win once, but if the novel loses, you can enter the novel again. As the time-honored saying goes: "If at first you don't succeed try, try and try again."

We welcome all comers. We recognize that the typical applicant will be the Cozy Mystery Author, but we encourage others like readers/fans, literary agents, publicists, editors, publishers, etc. to also enter great Cozy Mysteries for consideration.

100% Yes. We do not think any less of self-published Cozy Mysteries and value them the same as we do traditionally published Cozy Mysteries.

Aside from the gratification that comes from getting an award, there are also more tangible deliverables associated with winning a Distinguished Cozy Mystery Award. First, we will publish our awards announcement on this website and throughout various social media outlets that reach over 80,000 people. Second, all winners will get an official seal that they can use for marketing purposes to boost sales of their book and let the world know that they are the author of an award-winning book. Third, we provide a Q&A opportunity for each award-winning author to answer questions describing their unique approach to writing their Cozy Mystery. If the author responds to our questions, that Q&A will be published here and throughout social media, again reaching at least 80,000 people.

Fear not, we do not make any interior book files available anywhere in the public domain and after a book is evaluated for an Award, or an Expert Review, or both, all interior book files are deleted.
